Admissions Requirements

The school does not deny admission to anyone based on race, creed, color, gender, religion or national origin. To qualify for enrollment, applicants must be able to read and write the English language and be at least 18 years of age. Incoming students must provide high school diploma or GED certificate.

Non high school gradutes or GED recipients

Applicants without proof of high school graduation or GED certificate will be required to meet the minimum basic math aptitude requirements on the school's basic math aptitude assessment. Exams are administered on the Friday immediately preceding the desired program start date. Note: Most employers require a clear drug screening test.

The following may disqualify an applicant:

• A history of epilepsy seizures
• Medication which may interfere with one's ability to operate equipment
• Invalid drivers license
• Felony conviction

The above admissions requirements may prevent a graduate from obtaining employment, and therefore, may be deemed as barriers to admission to the School. Admission may still be granted to applicants who do not meet the above requirements if the School determines the applicant is capable of obtaining employment upon graduation. For example, applicants may be required to provide substantial evidence that employment opportunities exist regardless of the above admissions requirements. The School will make this determination on a case-by-case basis.

ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES

Applicants must submit a completed Enrollment Application to the School to apply for enrollment. Proof of identification in the form of a driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, or other form of identification may be required prior to admission. Applicants may apply for enrollment at any time prior to enrollment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The School does not discriminate based on mental or physical handicaps. However, students must be mentally and physically capable of safely operating equipment on a daily basis in order to successfully complete the program. The School encourages all students who may have a concern regarding a physical or mental issue to visit the School and allow the School to evaluate individual circumstances. The School may allow a student to attend a portion of the training on a trial basis (up to three days) without being obligated for tuition charges. Mobile Crane students will be required to pass a physical examination OR provide proof of passing the DOT physical in order to apply for the NCCCO written or practical examinations.
